Mumbai’s Monorail will suspend operations from September 20 for a system overhaul, announced MMRDA, following frequent breakdowns. This shutdown, the third in eight years, aims to integrate new ‘Make in India’ rakes, commission advanced signalling, and refurbish the ageing fleet. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde emphasized that this vital step will strengthen Mumbai’s transport.
