Panchayat chief, drunk at wheel, mows down whistleblower

Samalapuram town panchayat president S Vinayaga Palanisamy has been arrested for allegedly running over K Palanisamy, a daily wager, with his SUV. The victim had previously complained about the president’s misuse of panchayat funds to lay a private road. Police investigation revealed that Vinayaga Palanisamy, who was allegedly drunk, intentionally hit K Palanisamy, who died later in hospital.
