NASA spots Japan’s Resilience crash site: High-res image shows impact, private moon missions struggle

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has spotted the crash site of Japan’s Resilience moon lander. The ispace lander aimed for a historic landing in Mare Frigoris. Communication was lost during descent. The image shows a dark smudge, indicating a high-speed impact. A microrover carrying art was also lost. This marks ispace’s second failed lunar landing.
