Religion in flux: Islam surges, Christianity shrinks; Hinduism holds steady

A recent Pew Research Center report reveals that while most major religious groups expanded between 2010 and 2020, Christianity’s global share declined due to religious switching, despite a population increase. Islam experienced the fastest growth, driven by demographics and higher fertility rates. The religiously unaffiliated saw a significant rise, largely due to individuals leaving Christianity.
