5 killed, several injured in firecracker factory blast in Punjab’s Muktsar

A devastating explosion at a firecracker unit in Singhewala village, Muktsar district, near the Punjab-Haryana border, claimed the lives of five laborers and left nearly two dozen injured. The blast, which occurred around 2 am, caused the unit’s structure to collapse, trapping many migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh. Initial investigations suggest potash used in manufacturing crackers may be the cause.
