Sherpa Palchen Tamang, accompanying Subrata Ghosh, recounted the harrowing Everest summit. Ghosh, weakened and disoriented near Hillary Step, refused to move despite Tamang’s efforts. Exhausted and with dwindling oxygen, Tamang spent hours trying to move Ghosh, but was ultimately forced to descend alone, suffering hallucinations and frostbite during his own difficult return to camp.
