Assam is gearing up for a caste census targeting its seven native Muslim communities, aiming to differentiate them from immigrant Muslims of Bangladesh origin. CM Sarma announced the initiative to fulfill the long-standing demand of Goria, Moria, Deshi, Syed, Jolha, Kiren, and Maimal Muslims.
