A 26-year-old California hotel worker, also a ski enthusiast, died from Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome complications, days after Gene Hackman and his wife’s passing. Betsy Arakawa, Hackman’s wife, also succumbed to the same virus a week prior to her husband’s death. The young man had been ill for two weeks, seeking hospital treatment before his death.
