USFDA to ‘phase out’ eight approved synthetic food dyes by 2027

The US government plans to ban synthetic food dyes by 2026, citing health concerns like ADHD and cancer, especially in children. FDA Commissioner Marty Makary highlighted studies linking these dyes to various health issues. The ban, building on a previous prohibition of Red Dye 3, aims to overhaul the food system under the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ agenda.
