One teacher for 43 students: Delhi’s MCD school nearly 8k short of RTE mandate

MCD schools in New Delhi face a shortage of 7,928 teachers, forcing each teacher to manage 43 students on average, exceeding the RTE Act’s limit of 30. The shortage affects over 7.9 lakh students, leading to overcrowded classrooms and compromised learning. Some students from different grades and mediums are merged into one classroom, affecting educational quality.
