A new study published in the Heart journal reveals that the shape and size of veins and arteries on the retina can predict stroke risk almost as accurately as traditional methods. Examining the retinal vascular network can indicate potential brain blood vessel damage. The study, based on 45,161 individuals, linked changes in retinal blood vessel indicators to higher stroke risk among older people, particularly males, smokers, and diabetics.
