A recent socio-economic caste survey conducted by the Congress government in Hyderabad indicates the backward classes make up 55-57% of the state’s population, higher than the estimated 52%. Over 10% of households in the GHMC area were not surveyed. The findings will assist the government in shaping reservation policies and addressing historical representation gaps, with discussions led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
