Rs 28 lakh TV, 7 servent quarters: Rs 33cr spent on Delhi CM’s residence, says CAG

The renovation of Delhi CM’s residence cost Rs 33 crore, far exceeding the initial estimate of Rs 7.9 crore. The Comptroller and Auditor General’s report highlights excessive spending on luxury appliances, irregularities in tendering and discrepancies in expenditure records. PM Narendra Modi criticized the project, calling it ‘Sheesh Mahal’, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
