Govt bans Nimesulide on animals after vultures die in experiment

The Centre has banned Nimesulide for animals after studies confirmed it is toxic to vultures. Experiments showed the drug caused kidney failure and death in vultures. Enforced under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, it raises enforcement concerns in rural areas. Experts recommend safer alternatives like meloxicam and tolfenamic acid.
