The NPCI has removed the user cap on WhatsApp Pay, allowing the platform to onboard its entire 500 million users onto UPI. Previously limited to phased user increases, WhatsApp Pay can now expand its services fully. Despite facing competition, this move aims to boost its presence in the UPI market, where it lags behind Google Pay and PhonePe.
