VHP launches nationwide campaign to ‘free’ temples from government control

The Vishva Hindu Parishad announced a nationwide campaign to free temples from government control, citing discriminatory practices against Hindus. Organising general secretary Milind Parande noted thousands of temples are under government oversight in 11 states. The campaign, starting January 5, includes proposals for autonomous management by Hindu councils, emphasizing decentralized control for better religious and social service.
